I've got a simple "back to top" link at the bottom of my page to bring you back to an anchor tag at the top of the page. In such cases, it should be fairly obvious that you dont need the anchor element at all. On the other hand, as of 12/3/2011, works in the latest version of Firefox and Chrome and Internet Explorer. Are you able to narrow down the non-working IE8 computers to the exact IE 8 version?
