Had been connected fine in the past, but along the way the Bluetooth connections seem to get corrupted. The ipad still seemed to be paired with it (no keyboard shows up on the touchscreen) but I cannot seem to write using the wireless keyboard anyway.
SOME keys work 1% of the time! The Setup Assistant will find the keyboard, so click the name of the keyboard, and then click on "Continue". Hope someone might have some ideas on what might fix this. BTW when I first encountered the trouble it had switched off and I dropped the batteries out followed by a light grey plastic ring.Unfortunately I put that back in and realised Mac Laptop Keyboard Not Working I think they're great keyboards. Follow the instructions to pair your keyboard.

NB: This trick works especially on the original Bluetooth Wireless keyboards, mice and trackpads. Apple's keyboards are known not to work well with rechargeable batteries as the voltage they supply is too irregular. Just because during pairing on an Apple keyboard you type a pairing code onto the keyboard doesn't mean the keyboard remembers that - it only needs to pass it to the Works flawlessly. From the Bluetooth menu, choose Debug > Remove All Devices. Perhaps leaving the batteries out for 5 mins will HARD reset the keyboard.
