Arrow Keys Not Working In Word Mac

I can't find any way to fix this so, so far I can't play games that involve the arrow keys, really annoying because there are some great games out there! Join over 733,556 other people just like you! Please, help? If I am typing something on word and use my back arrow key, itunes automatically opens and goes to the previous song. Oddly enough my forward arrow key works and will not affect itunes, unless I am actually using it for itunes. It's not a toy. Click the Mouse & Trackpad settings tab. 3. and you are done.

Restart word again and it made the trick for me.

No idea why, but as suggested somewhere above, I'd start at F1 and go to the end (F12) one at a time and see if that does the trick.
