Basically if a site is not designed for accessibility, then there is little we can do about it, but if it is then we should support the hints put in place. via jQuery, only the image with an alt attribute is rendered in Chrome (45.0.2454.101). Firefox ignores author-specified image placeholder dimensions by default and renders alt text inline. It /does/ address the change to @title proposed in Comment #45. It just removes the incorrect code.
